Re: Oracle 10.2.0.2 and TOAD brings ORA-600

Hello John, I guess there are a lot of problems switching the Data Dictionary from RBO to CBO. There are a lot of Hidden Parameters starting with "_optimizer" in 20.2. See: http://www.orafaq.com/parms/index1020.htm If you search in MeataLink you will find several BUGs with ORA-600 and Workarounds setting Hidden Parameters. I guess it is not a good idea set the Hidden Parameters globally like ALTER SYSTEM SET "_optimizer_push_pred_cost_based"=FALSE SCOPE=BOTH; The result could be a performance problem for the 'normal' applications. May be it is a good idea to add a "startup_TOAD.sql" to each connection in the Database Login Window. So you can run all the tricky Oracle Workarounds like ALTER SESSION SET "_optimizer_push_pred_cost_based"=FALSE at the begin of a TOAD session.
