SYMPTOMS

Fusion Applications database server is unresponsive.

The following errors occurred in the database alert log file:

		TNS-12547: TNS:lost contact

   ns secondary err code: 12560

   nt main err code: 0

   nt secondary err code: 0

   nt OS err code: 0

nofiles(descriptors) 256

vmemory(kbytes)      unlimited

CAUSE

Limit of open files "nofiles(descriptors) 256" was too low.

SOLUTION

Increase the ulimit values on the database server.
