A 10win season would be a good accomplishment for

this team, and would offer the Vols momentum heading into the offseason. A 10win season would look much better to recruits as opposed to an 8 or 9win season.

And 10 wins would give Vol fans optimism as they prepare for the 2007 season. It was a dreary offseason after last year, and they could use something positive to build off going into next year.

They couldn't believe the Commodores walked off the field at Neyland Stadium with a win. Some players called it the lowest point of a season with many low moments.

The loss was embarrassing. UT hadn't lost to Vanderbilt since 1982, and going into the season no one

expected 2005 to be the year the Vols finally lost again.

But it happened, and this is UT's chance to get revenge. Vanderbilt is not the same whipping boy it once was, but it's still an inferior team to UT.

UT is coming off backtoback losses to LSU and Arkansas. That added to last year's loss to Vandy should give the Vols plenty of motivation.

Why shouldn't he? He was three days removed from a heartbreaking 2824 loss to LSU, the school from his home state. Florida clinched the SEC Eastern Division Championship, so he'll never win an SEC Title.

But UT's players have no time to sit around feeling sorry for themselves because they face an

Arkansas team that hasn't lost a game in the SEC this year on Saturday.

UT still has a chance at a good season. The Vols can win 10 regular season games and 11 with a bowl game win. They can get back to and finish in the Top 10. And they can change the perception

of UT football after last year's 56 season.

That won't happen if UT lays an egg against Arkansas. That's why there is no time to remember LSU.

UT will either play injured started Erik Ainge or inexperienced backup Jonathon Crompton at quarterback against arguably the nation's best defense. Ainge's status will be a gametime decision.
