Goal

How can we design a form. so that the user can enter data and save it to Essbase.

Solution

These are the conditions that can cause Web form. cells to be display-only:

1. One of the dimension members associated with the cell is a parent. If the Version associated with the form. is a Bottom-up version, then the form. must show level 0 members in order to accept data. You cannot enter values for parents unless the version is a Target version.
2. You do not have write access to one of the members associated with the cell.
3. The currency for the cell is not set to Local.
4. The planning unit associated with the cell might be under review and owned by another user. You cannot modify data for a planning unit that is under review unless you are the current owner of that planning unit.
5. The time periods might be outside the range that is valid for the current scenario.
6. The plan type selected for the Web form. is not the Source Plan Type for the particular accounts represented in the form.
Note: If a member is referenced in more than one plan type, the source plan type defines where the data value is stored.
Caution!: If you change the Source Plan Type for an account in the Planning Desktop, the data is lost for that account.
