Symptoms
On 11.5.10.2, when attempting to add assets through Quick Additions, the following error occurs.
APP-OFA-47290: Units assigned must not exceed units available.
The error occurs even though the number of units assigned are equal to the number of units available.
This error occurs when Quick Additions is used and when the fields are not entered in the right order. If the input is in the wrong sequence, then the error is displayed.
There is no error in case all the fields are entered in the right sequence.
Cause
The issue is caused because when the user navigates from the Addition_Add block to the Addition_Dist block, there is no check whether book_type_code, category, or cost is null. There should be a check at the beginning of the procedure.
This is described in the internal unpublished bug 3974281.
Solution
This bug has been fixed in 11i.FA.P with version of the Asset Workbench form - FAXASSET.fmb 115.417.
There are currently no backports on this due to dependency issues.
The issue can be avoided by not navigating to the Assignment block before entering the information in the Book block of the form.
