Oracle's Two-Phase Commit protocol. 2PC is used to ensure that all databases involved in a
transaction either commits or roll-back together, leaving a distributed database in a consistent
state.
Two-Phase Commit
A strategy in which changes to a database are temporarily applied. Once it has been determined
that all parts of a change can be made successfully, the changes are permanently posted to the
database.
