Applies to:
Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.1This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
During normal operation the instance is shutdown with an abort like this:Thu Nov 10 01:09:14 2005
Completed: ALTER DATABASE OPEN
...
Thu Nov 10 01:39:22 2005
Shutting down instance (abort)
Cause
The problem is caused by an unpublished bug:4556989 which causes racgmain to fail. Racgmain may write a core in $ORACLE_HOME/log/Another way to diagnose this problem is to check crsd.log for that look like this:
2005-11-21 15:20:06.267: [ CRSAPP][1524803952]0CheckResource error for ora.MYDB.MYDB3.inst error code = 139
or
2005-11-10 15:14:32.459: [ CRSAPP][5861] CheckResource error for ora.MYDB.MYDB2.inst error code = 138
Solution
In order to fix the problem you have to apply the fix for unpublished Bug 4556989.If the patch does not exist it is highly recommended to upgrade to the latest patchset.
Unpublished Bug 4556989 has been fixed from patchset 10.2.0.2 onwards.
