When China engineering machinery industry reaches its trough, the situation of overseas business is much better. Caterpillar, the greatest manufacturer of earth-moving machinery, mining machinery and construction machinery all around the world, gives its third quarter report and it shows that their benefits increased 49% about 1.7 billion dollars in the third quarter.

However, China’s engineering machinery manufacturing is cooling in succession in the third quarter and it won’t show a good tendency the whole year.

To Caterpillar, the global demands (expect China) for mining construction and earth-moving machinery shows a growing trend. The predicament Caterpillar face in China market is much severer than local enterprises. In the first quarter, the sales volume of Caterpillar in China market suffered a sharp decline and it also declined in the third quarter. However, in Asia market (expect China), Caterpillar’s sales volume still have an increase. And in North America market, its sales volume has a strong growth of 23% in the third quarter.

The decline scope of engineering machinery tycoons’ sales volume is dissimilar according to their different interdependency to China market. At present, the business share of Caterpillar in China market only takes 3% of its revenue, Komatsu about 5% and Hitachi Construction machinery 8%. Some statistics says that the trading profit of Komatsu and Hitachi declined separately 14% and 38% in the third quarter.

In addition, different from some local enterprises, some international engineering machinery tycoons such as Caterpillar, Komatsu are mainly manufacturing earth-moving machinery and mining machinery. They don’t set foot in concrete machinery. However, in domestic market, concrete machinery will become a lucrative field which all manufacturers strive for.
