Background: 
After default installation, my DB do not support Chinese, can not insert Chinese into tables.

mysql> insert into news values(,'雾霾',"","");

Solution:
mysql> alter table news convert to character set utf8;
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.74 sec)
Records: 1  Duplicates: 0  Warnings: 0

mysql> insert into news values(2,"雾霾","","");
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.05 sec)

mysql> insert into news(news_title,news_curl) values("青春","");
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.08 sec)

mysql> select * from news;
