how to improve seaching string performance in huge database
We usually use like ,instr or other key words like that to search string in database. But at present the table size becomes more and more bigger,So we have to choose some others methods to improve seaching string performance in huge database.
[@more@]I may suggest some methods here for you.
1 use fulltext search in database (sybase or oracle,or sqlserver. It is a easy method with limited function.
2 use memory cache such as Memcached , a typical open source software.
or memory database such as timesten for oracle
3 use harddisk cache such as Squid
4 use search technich using splitting dictionary just like google. It may be too difficult for most of us.
