We have a Oracle Database Administrator position based in Wellesley, MA. It’s a 9 months contract position.

 

Below is the Job Description:

 

Position: Sr. Oracle Database Administrator

Location: Wellesley, MA

Duration: 9 months contrac- W2 contract

 

- Minimum 5 years of experience in Oracle database administration including installs, configuration, upgrades, migrations and patching with 1 yr in supporting Oracle Exadata - Minimum 5 yrs of extensive experience working only with 11gR2 Oracle RAC databases - Minimum 3 years of experience of authoring and maintaining UNIX shell scripts - Minimum 5 years of experience with problem analysis / resolution for O/S, database - Minimum 3 yrs experience in supporting data guard and replication - Minimum 3 yrs of experience in Oracle backup and recovery using RMAN - Must have installed and configured Oracle Enteprise Manager 12c - Minimum 3 yrs of experience in performance tuning 11gR2 databases - Minimum of 2 yrs of experience in automating common dba tasks - Must have a good understanding of administering and maintaining Oracle database objects such tables, views, database links, pl/sql packages etc. - Must have working knowledge of monitoring and troubleshooting database issues using Oracle Enterprise manager 11g or 12c - Must have worked in an environment which uses ITIL practices for configuration management, change management, release management and service level management - Must have general working knowledge of ticket tools such as remedy - Must have good working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL - Must be experienced using standard Oracle utilities such as Data pump, export/import - Must have worked in a 24x7 production support environment being on-call - Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

Sr. Oracle DBA

·         The successful candidate will perform. database creation, administration and tuning to support our customers development, test and production databases.

·         The candidate will be expected to display expertise in Oracle RAC and provide mentoring to other Infocrossing team members in this area.

·         The individual will be responsible for database maintenance such as creating backups, editing indexes and performing installations and upgrades.

·         The successful candidate will be called upon to perform. a variety of database optimizations that will include general reporting and analysis of the efficiency of the database configuration and periodic review of database performance.

·         Expertise and work efforts will focus on the development and support and/or the customization of new services and support efforts.

·         The individual will need to work with vendor personnel to achieve timely solutions of database problems. They will need to participate in on-call .

·         Candidate will be involved in architecting solutions for on-boarding/migrating new customers as well as being involved in project review teams.

·         Candidate will be involved in pre-sales activities

·         Candidate will be expected to be involved in monthly/quarterly customer reviews both on-site and remotely.

·         Candidate is expected to provide escalation and mentoring for L1 & L2 peers





·         Extensive experience with the following:

Responsibilities

 

Design, develop, and implement complex physical databases across multiple platforms, technologies and computing environments

Senior Oracle Database Administrator

MARCS supports the import program staff in the field to do the import entry review including Prior Notice review, fieldwork assignment, and compliance decision-making for the millions of import entry lines that are received each year. MARCS systems also support the domestic business processes for planning and conducting inspections, federal/state partnerships, workload management, investigative operations, laboratory analysis, compliance work, and other critical initiatives. MARCS currently operates and maintains over 20 systems, including legacy applications and new services and components introduced to modernize and enhance the IT capabilities needed by ORA. Some of these functions are mission-critical and must be operational 24 by 7. FDA (and various contractors) developed these systems over the last 15+ years using a variety of technologies. Oracle L2 Database Administrator

Business description:

To provide Level 2 Oracle Database support and business customer service through reactive daily Oracle database administration and support, implementation of new and cloned databases, operational maintenance, and proactive change initiatives both initiated by infrastructure and clients.

 

Responsibilities:

Daily reactive Incident and Service Request support for Oracle Databases globally via hotline and ticketing systems. Perform. triage, initial troubleshooting, and escalation.

 

Proactively support the ongoing maintenance and optimization of preventative maintenance activities designed to increase the stability of the environment and maintain high levels of stability.

 

Interfaces proactively with other Infrastructure support teams such as UNIX, WINTEL, Network, IT Facilities, Backup, Storage, Monitoring, Security etc.

Develop and maintain procedures & policies around all aspects of server support & implementation, including evaluation of existing practices, documentation, and holding training sessions.

Administer and maintain the security and integrity of the databases. Design database maintenance and upgrade processes and provide incident/problem management support. Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Serves as an expert (SME) and guides others in the resolution of the most complex incidents and problems. Develops processes, procedures and defines metrics to review for capacity management. This role leads additional research into technology that provides improved resiliency and recovery for databases.

Role Specific Responsibilities

- Work with the Information / Data Architect and Database Designer / Modeler to help implement the physical data model for the development and / or production environments for Data Warehouse Systems and OLTP Systems.

- Help develop and validate the Data Warehouse and OLTP implementation plan

- Support the data loads into the databases

- Create database objects and maintain their physical organization / relationships

- Provide input, as needed, to the development of business cases when enterprise-wide database solutions are proposed
